I’m against it because when I was in a public middle school, they enforced a pretty strict dress code. And teachers only targeted certain kids. I had big boobs, suddenly, at age twelve, so a lot of things didn’t suit me, didn’t fit me, made my already low self esteem lower. So when I found shirts that suited by body type, in the hot weather, it was a godsend. But I was told I couldn’t wear them, while girls with smaller chests got away with it every day. Obviously you can’t send your child to school naked, but to only dress code certain kids, kids with different body types, that isn’t right.
Then you have the really tall girls, who can’t find proper shorts in their size that aren’t bermuda. Or bigger girls, who may have trouble trying to find things that they like on their bodies, because they’re told that being on the big side is wrong.
I have a problem because certain body types are targeted above others, and for me that leads back to shaming girls for their changing bodies, when they are just becoming women and I can tell you that it is a horrible, sometimes irreparable experience.
So when it’s hot, in the last few months of school, it shouldn’t be a problem for girls to wear shorts that are past their fingers. They shouldn’t have to completely conceal their bra straps, because they’re at school to learn, not to be made increasingly self conscious.

Obviously it isn’t for extreme, horrible things, like murder, etcetera.
To me it means that we all do some bad things, however small. My bad things don’t make me better than your bad things make you.

To me it’s like loving the people around you and not hating them based on what you perceive as minor faults.

i can understand that. in all honesty, i very rarely smoke or drink. im a bit sad, but i’m working hard at it, as i have been for a few years now. i’m actually doing pretty great. but i understand where you’re coming from. thank you for thinking of me, anon. it means a lot.

As for the boy, he’s really swell. He listens to some good music, and puts in on mixes for me. He’s cute! He’s got huge eyes, what a princess. They’re very green. He’s very artsy. He wears a lot of plaid and thinks about a lot of really interesting things. I think he’s really cool, and he thinks I’m okay as well. I love the poor kid. He does sound and builds things and he’s much taller than me and I have to stand on my toes to kiss his chin. It’s ridiculous.

I was volunteering with disabled adults, but some of them made me uncomfortable. So instead I reorganized part of the public library, which I preferred.
